The name Kaizen originated from the combination of two Japanese characters Kai in Czech “change” and Zen “good”. This philosophy of successive a continuous improvement of production processeswas first used after 2. World War II Japanese companies.

The main idea is making a large number of small changesthat will contribute to one big change over a longer period of time. Wasting resources and time in the manufacturing process is referred to as MUDA.
